Lucky day

I managed to get myself going this morning in time to get to the Ride West part's swap just after it opened. It turns out that it was well worth it. I picked up a rear luggage grid and soft case for my Rockster for about 1/8th retail price. I also got to chat with a number of cool people (Hi Morgan, Jessica and Mike!) and had a tasty pancake breakfast.

The bag locks to the luggage grid, but it had a lock cylinder sans key. Normally getting that cylinder out would require either a locksmith or drilling out the cylinder. However, one of the guys from the parts department told me to go try the box-o-keys. I figured it was worth a shot so I headed down and sat down with a box of about 500 random motorcycle keys. The lock opened on the fifth key I tried. Apparently today was my lucky day. Once unlocked we got the lock cylinder out and the friendly folks at Ride West rekeyed it for me.

I decided not to push my luck any further and just relaxed the rest of the day.
