Frustration

Engineers:

1. If you write a technote that includes a schematic make damn sure you labeled the pins right.

2. If you build a network device with a password, be sure to include a password reset function.

Failure to follow these rules may result in groups of people outside your office with flaming torches and pitchforks.

A JTAG port: the ultimate password reset tool.

I have a BDM port. Reference rule 1. Even after I figured out what parts of the schematic were wrong it still doesn't work. If only it were JTAG... I actually have access to two different JTAG interfaces.

What kind of device is this?

An old console server I picked up on eBay. It's a Lightware Console server 800. The only way to get the password out is through the BDM port which I simply cannot make work.

Here's what I'm trying to do: http://www.hecomputing.org/?p=7
