crankygirlie and I went to the first class of our swing dancing lessons last night. We used to swing dance all the time but stopped for various reasons a few years ago. So we're going again and have decided to take the intro class just to get warmed up. I had some trouble with the steps because it was being simplified for the intro and my muscle memory has me doing all sorts of other things. I think that it was good though because it broke things up a bit and gave me a clearer understanding of the basic step.

The teacher was great. It was his first time teaching the class, but he's spent a lot of time teaching people individually at dances and such. He has a really good technique for teaching the basic than how I learned it. I was really impressed that at the end of the class he had about 20 people dancing 8 count lindy hop pretty well. Next week should be fun.
