weekend wrapup

Friday night gordonmessmer came over and we broke in the barbecue. Steak, chicken, sausage, portobello mushrooms and corn on the cob. Corn didn't work out so well but the rest was awesome.

Saturday I finally got the curtains up in the living room and did some more cleaning up and fixing things.

Sunday was a nice lazy day, dinner at Julie's parent's house. Oh, and I picked up a 250G hard disk for $70 after rebate. It's going to be my backup drive :)

Wrap in aluminum foil and toss it on the grill. The problem was that we used frozen corn on the cob instead of fresh (not in season) so it came out a bit squishy. Normally it comes out awesome.

We found what might possibly be the most awesome way to cook corn on the cob in the UNIVERSE.

Buy the corn on the cob still in the husk. Fold down the leaves, and WRAP THE CORN IN BACON, then wrap the leaves back up, stripping off a couple of them to use to tie the leaves up so everything stays together in a dense package of PURE AWESOMENESS.

Throw those sons uh bitches on the grill until they look good n' ready.

Then get ready to change your pants. Yes, it's THAT good.

I wouldn't go that far. This was the same night that went ended up wrapping Brautwurst in bacon and grilling it (also OMG WOW YUM), but also wrapping a twinikie in bacon and grilling it (Um... not so wow. Stupid, actually. Really stupid). That last one really kills my credibility. At least I got someone else to take a bite of the twinkie too.

Spoiler: The Woman found the corn on the cob recipe while reading Martha Stewart's Living. We really arn't that smart.
