I dropped my helmet this morning (from about 2-3 feet.) So now it's not a question of whether to replace it or not, but rather a question of how much to spend ($160 - $700)

not the best way to start the year.

I almost dropped mine, the day before yesterday. I've already noted that this year is starting poorly. We're going to have to put extra effort into making it not suck.

We will definitely have to put some effort in.

We could start by turning your old helmet into a punch bowl.

Party at Matthew's house!

I think that it would probably leak pretty bad. That, and what with it being over a year old it would probably make the punch taste funny.

ck_morpheus just got himself a jacket for 600CHF. It's insane.
But I'd go for the one helmet that provides more savety! Your head is importand, remember that ;-)

I spent about twice that on my suit, but it was worth every penny :)

But it's to keep your body in one piece. That jacket of his is just to look nice...

yeah, I suppose I don't make much of a fashion statement wandering around the grocery store in an hi-viz yellow armored suit ;)

No, but you might teach a kid of two to always take care of yourself! Lord knows there are too many people out here that aren't carefull on the streets anymore :-(

Re: Helmet
Yeah, I could totally buy a $160 helmet that would protect my head pretty well. But the $700 helmet is also the quietest and one of the safest available. It also fits perfectly (I've tried one on)

Fortunately I have another helmet to borrow in the mean time, so I can save up some money and buy the nice one.
